BIO2REG Exchange
The BIO2REG Exchange Instrument helps regions learn from each other and co-develop practical bioeconomy transition roadmaps. Greenhouse-gas intensive regions such as those reliant on coal, intensive agriculture, fisheries or forestry-based industries (e.g. pulp and paper production) are paired with more advanced bioeconomy regions. The exchanges combines mentoring, site visits, and action planning on topics such as value chains, stakeholder engagement, funding, living labs, and skills development.
The programme uses a structured, low-barrier application process with online forms and dialogue interviews, and supports travel costs for up to 3 participants per region. Regions are matched transparently based on challenges, maturity, thematic fit, and stakeholder readiness to ensure high relevance and mutual benefit.
How will the Exchange work?
The BIO2REG Exchange is hands-on, collaborative, and tailored to regional needs. Each alliance consists of a visiting and a hosting region, supported by BIO2REG experts and partners. Together, they combine mentoring, study visits, and tools to design a practical roadmap for the bioeconomy transition of your region.
